PROFESSION OF FAITH PROCEDURE

  1. Student indicates to a leader of the Student Ministry a desire to publicly professing his/her faith to the church.

  2. The student is given a form that gets contact information and who they would like to have as a Profession of Faith Mentor. That form is then sent to the Student Ministry Coordinator.

  3. The Student Ministry Coordinator (Cindy Mulder) contacts the potential mentor to request that they partner with the student for a six week mentoring program

  4. Once a Mentor is found, he/she is given a packet that details the program and then meets with the Student Ministry Coordinator to clarify any questions that may linger.

  5. The mentor then contacts the student to schedule times to meet.

Note: Once the start date has been established between the mentor and student, it is expected that they will meet regularly in order to complete the program in a timely manner. In other words, it is important to meet at least once a week until the booklet is completed.

  6. The student and mentor work through the 6 week program. Half way through the program, the mentor is to contact the Student Ministry Coordinator for an update on how it is going.

  7. Once the 6 week program is completed, the mentor is to contact the chairman of the Shepherding Elders to arrange a time to meet. The mentor is expected to join the student at this meeting to continue to encourage the student.

  8. After this meeting has taken place, the elders will contact the Sunday morning Worship Director to notify that the student is ready to be presented to the church.

  9. The Worship Director will determine a date and communicate it to the Student Ministry Coodinator.

  10. The Student Ministry Coordinator (Cindy Mulder) will communicate to the student and their family of the date.

  11. The student will profess his/her faith on the scheduled Sunday morning.
