Discovery School of Discipleship

The Discovery School of Discipleship is Calvary's program for transforming adults so that they may more closely model Christ, becoming modern-day disciples.

There are many opportunities for adults to receive education: Core Discipleship (Sunday mornings), Wednesday Family Night Bible study and our "Year of Jubilee" mission trips.

Core Discipleship

Core Discipleship are adult educational opportunities that meet on Sunday mornings. Check Calvary's ENewsletter to find out our current class offerings.

Young Adult Community

We are a group of younge adults, age 18-29 that want to find community within our church. The number of members among our age group at Calvary is HUGE, yet we never seem to connect. We would love to get to know you, so become a part of this growing group! Various activities are planned throughout the year.

Men's Ministry

Saturday Morning Breakfasts
Approximately once a month, join a group of other men as we come together for food, fellowship, and growing together in our relationship with Christ. We begin at 7:45 a.m. and are done by 9 a.m. Start your Saturday out right!

Accountability Groups
Support, comfort, and encouragement through Christian accountability to grow in spiritual maturity.

Men's Bible Study
A weekly Bible study, open to men of all ages, led by Mark Douglas each Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m. in Room C. Child care is available.

Women's Ministry

Coffee Break/Bible Study
Bring a friend or neighbor to explore this non-denominational inductive Bible study that enables women to explore what the Bible has to say and how it applies to their life.

For Children
Story Hour (for 4- and 5-year olds), and Little Lambs (for 2- and 3-year olds), and Nursery is available for the children of women attending one of the Tuesday morning programs.

Study for Women
"Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the Fruits of the Spirit" is a Beth Moore study for women that is held at two different times:

1)Mornings of the first and third Thursday of every month at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Jan Hulst.

2. Evenings of the first and third Sunday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Jan Hulst.

Wednesday Family Night

Wednesday Family Night is a mid-week meeting at Calvary that enables individuals and families to eat together and in fellowship with others before participating in any of the variety of programs designed for adults and children.

Join us at 5:30 p.m. for a balanced, family-friendly meal (cost: $4/person; $14/family); then, from 6:30-8 p.m., adults participate in service projects or small group meetings, while children may choose from one of the following:

Nursery (Birth-age 3)
Kinderclub (Age 4-Kindergarten)
GEMS (Grades 1-5, Girls)
Cadets (Grades 1-5, Boys)


Year of Jubilee Mission Trip Opportunities
"God's spirit is on me; He's chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor, sent me to announce, 'This is God's year to act!'"

During this Year of Jubiliee we will focus our attention on locations around the world that would desparately like to build places to minister to the poor but are unable. Check the bulletin and ENewsletter to learn of local opportunities.

Calvary's dream is to help the village of Don Bosco by building four new classrooms onto it school. This will offer the people of the village the support they need in the areas of physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental help.

Calvary would like to help complete an emergency treatment area in the Carapungo Clinic, which will serve patients with acute illnesses who cannot wait for a regular appointment.

Phil Snyder from GLOW Ministries in Zeeland will lead us through Haiti as we visit a variety of villages and schools. Our goal is to experience the country and culture of Haiti, meet and encourage the people, and be stretched by God through this opportunity. (Registration ended December 17, 2006.)

Calvary members will unite to finish a vocational school at the El Verbo Education Center that was not completed due to lack of funding. General skills needed.

Calvary's dream is to help build an auditorium at Bethlehem Bible College where Palestinians can advance their schoolingand learn to be Christian leaders in this Middle East country.

New York, New York

The people of Calvary will work side by side to impact the lives of the poor and homeless in New York without healthcare by helping New Life Medical Ministry move its community health fair program to an established volunteer health center. Through the completion of parts of their clinic, more people will have access to much-needed and Christian medical attention.
